About the event
On January 25th at 16:00z, we will be hosting the Ives Peak Drill Fire—a dynamic and immersive training scenario designed to simulate a large-scale wildfire incident. This drill will focus on developing critical decision-making, coordination, and operational skills in aerial firefighting, air traffic control, and ground support roles.
The scenario begins with a wildfire reported on the southeastern slopes of Ives Peak, rapidly spreading due to strong winds and dry vegetation. Participants will be tasked with managing aircraft, dispatching resources, and ensuring safe and effective communication between air and ground teams.
Key objectives of the drill include:
Coordinating multi-agency firefighting efforts in a high-pressure environment.
Implementing resource allocation strategies to protect priority areas.
Navigating airspace management challenges, including deconfliction of firefighting and civilian aviation operations.
