About the event
On January 26th at 20:00z, we will be hosting the Bellbird Creek Fire—a dynamic and immersive training scenario designed to simulate a large-scale bushfire incident in Australia. This drill will focus on developing critical decision-making, coordination, and operational skills in aerial firefighting, air traffic control, and ground support roles.
The scenario begins with a bushfire reported near Grose Vale, rapidly spreading due to strong winds, steep terrain, and dry conditions. Participants will be tasked with managing aircraft, dispatching resources, and ensuring effective communication between air and ground teams to combat the fire.
Key objectives of the drill include:
Coordinating multi-agency firefighting efforts in a high-pressure environment.
Implementing resource allocation strategies to protect vulnerable communities and critical infrastructure.
Navigating airspace management challenges, including deconfliction of firefighting and civilian aviation operations.
